                      Ryan,

                      For install, do you recommend a pilot hole or just start to screw with the screw? Just wondering as not sure the hardness of the splitter and iS lip.

                        Just use the screws. No pilot holes are needed. If you get some plastic between the splitter and the lip you can undo the screws and clean it out, then put them back through.
