Whoops!
I choose the word MUTE on purpose, hence it being in all caps. It's a fricken Audio discussion for cryin out loud - it was a Double entendre, and a play on words if you will. Sorry you didn't get that grammar police. Text doesn't translate well I take it. I really do want to know, and these are honest answers to honest questions. The last two E30s I have owned are not what I would consider to acoustically friendly with all the snaps, clanks, and rattles.
And excuse my ignorance as far as acoustical knowledge goes. Now if you wanna talk about the best way to break down a lamb saddle, or the fastest way to take a full 4-up Rocky Jr. and get an full double airline or a half ballotine out of it then we can talk till the cows come home.

You know dude I've been building some myself to start selling so first off F you for the competition but secondly make sure the mount for the speaker is out far enough because that location backs right up to the window motor. The picture you show of what type used to be made looks like the speaker would mount flush with the map pocket itself and in that case you wouldn't be able to mount much of a 6.5 in there. Also a hole in the door panel is absolutely necessary and once you make that hole, boom, theres the window motor. Anywho just my 2 cents.Comment

The point here is that some people would like to upgrade the sound in their vehicles. I don't believe that there is a rule anywhere that you must have a brand new 335i in order for better sound to be a worthwhile addition to your car.
But your argument above was that better sound in an e30 is pointless. And my point here is--that's a stupid argument. The original poster felt the need to upgrade the equipment in his car and thought there might be others with the same thought. So he's offering his upgrade potential to the community, I think that's great being that large companies no longer put effort into our older cars. New upgrades are harder and harder to come by as the vehicles get older and less and less of them are still on the road, so its up to the dedicated members of the community to turn ideas into products, so I applaud the idea.Comment

^^^ dude if you don't want to cut your door panels then you need something different and you need to forget about these. I build mine out enough to fit good sized speakers and if I built them out any further they would hit your leg and seriously be in the way. If I were you I'd get another set of door panels like yours and cut those and then install these because its a great upgrade for your sound systemComment
