18mm is more than enough thread to hold the wheel onto the adapters, i'm going to be running a set of the design 2s in 18mm in my own car this year, and i'm aware of several other people with the same setup who haven't encountered any problems.

id start worrying at less than 10mm of thread, but anything more than that and you're totally fine.

it is also 18mm of pure threads for the lug bolt to thread into - you are not passing through a brake rotor before you reach the threads - fairly certain most wheel hubs offer less than 18mm of actual thread to bite into on most cars stock.

could you guys do a complete set (4) of straight 4x100 in 25mm width that are hubcentric? I have 90mm studs already and waiting on wheels and tires to ship.

i'm assuming we're talking about 16x8 et23. if that's the case, you'd need the design type 2 adapters (4x100 > 5x120). the thinnest we can do is 18mm, which would put you at et5. if you run 205/45s and roll your fenders that will work fine, it will be right around flush. i'd bump the rears out another 5-7mm, as noted above.

i've seen people run that exact setup on vws, but no e30s come to mind. it's only a slam dunk for people who want to run smaller tires, which is a can of worms around here. :p

i'm planning on using them to mount my m-system 1s this year, which have identical widths and very similar offsets up front.

on stock suspension (for now)
would like to achieve a tiny bit of poke-out with somewhat meaty tires.
fender rolling will most likely happen anyway.

I changed my mind and bought style 32 wheels but in 15" x 7 (got a good deal on CL). Offset is 46 if I´m not wrong. Hub bore is 72.1 ? I think? they´re e36 specific. They have 205/60/15 now, but that will change to 225/50/15. I know I´ll need 2 sets of your design two, but what width? I´m guessing your adapters are hubcentric for both the wheel and the hub?

a quick offset lesson to back up my "adapters for style 5s" claim: here's a car using full e36 (325is/318ti) 5-lug suspension and ground controls running 15x7 et20 wheels with 205/50s.





the front wheels poke out of the fenders, and the fender is sitting down on the tread block. if you were to run 18mm design 2 4x100 > 5x120 adapters on these wheels you'd be at 7 et2, which on an e30 with stock 4-lug would be around 10-15mm further in than this.

on top of the fact you spent way less money and time getting the wheels on there...they fit way better, you're way less committed to the wheels should you decide to change, and you've still got the freedom of choosing from both 4 AND 5-lug wheels in the future.

i'm going to get style 5 16x8 and i'm looking into yours 4x100 to 5x120 adapter but i have some questions. can i custom the center bore to fit the style 5? what size mm should i get for front and rear so it would sit flush with the fender?
