I think its a great idea, but you would need to be able to offer it for under $325 since you should be able to get a piggyback and MAF for under that price. Also, I wouldn't use an M3 MAF. Just a regular 325/328 MAF. They're 3" IIRC.

No, it was a Mazda MX6 or some fucking POS V6 mazda thing. The AFM on that cat makes our look great.

Is this actually in the works?

If so it would be alot more cost effective in the long run.

On a good note, I spoke with a good friend of mine who is very good with electronics in general and he said he could probably make one pretty easily and make it adjustable.

Mystical (Jay) said that it would be released in the spring/summer and he (Mark) has introduced the topic as early as mid last year so it wouldn't suprise me if it was introduced.

Not sure how that would affect your plans on this.

Any ideas on if hes developing a chip like that for the m42.

Also who has actually done this swap. Ive heard alot of its potential and little of the actual results. People are going to want dyno graphs before they throw down cash.

I believe Jordan has and Ryan George created the write up about swapping a a MAF with help from a SMT6 which is here:

Sorry for the thread-jack, but after reading that write-up, I am SO gonna install that SMT6/MAF combo into my car! It looks easy enough, it's just what I've been waiting for.:)

I've decided to keep this project alive but I am taking my time with it.

So far everyone I've talked to says it can be created and reproduced failry cheap.

What would help speed things up dramatically would be if someone who has the MAF with SMT6 or similar piggy back unit could send me your voltage map compared to the AFM.

What I need is a good map showing the difference in voltage output between the AFM and the MAF. The more engines I can get this data for the more universal I can make this.

PM mspiegle, he did a MAF with SMT6 in the past.
