The smaller kit is the Rally kit with 11.75" x 1.25" rotors and 6 pots calipers. I have spent three track days with them and they work awesome. The outer diameter works on 15" wheels (Kosei K1) but as the calipers are pretty thick, they require room behind the spokes. The kit works on my car with 16" x 8.5" Hartge wheels and 12mm spacers.
The Rally kit is available now and in stock (7 sets available). As far as I know, it is the only one in the world to fit 15" wheels such as Kosei K1s. The fit and rotor/caliper alignement is perfect. The only tolerance would come from the age of your strut. From a strut to another, there is a huge discrepency with the distance from the rotor to the control arm casting (steel flashes). Which can be exacerbed when tracking the car with sticky R Compounds. Knuckles are soft and can bend. Which is why I highly recommend to slightly grind off 1 or 2 mm from the control arm (around the ball joint - facing the rotor) to remove any extra flashing. It is more a polish job (than a grinding job) and takes 1 minute per side. Racers will most likely have the knuckles already reinforced anyway.
$650usd for installation kit only (hats, plated steel mounts, all graded fasteners, custom DOT braided lines, 90º fittings).
Or $1410usd with calipers (SL6R) and rotors (HD 11.75" x 1.25")
Pads are extra ($70) for Wilwood's Q Compound - Dustfree, squealfree, gentle on rotors, wide range of temp. Perfect crossover for street and track. Or buy your own choice (HT-10 / PF97-01 for track) from your local supplier.
Shipping of installation kit is 4 days/$35usd
Shipping of Wilwood parts is 4 days/$35usd to Cali
These days, I include free 1,5mm or 3mm spacers (your choice) to help clear wheels.
Hi Mariano. At 1,5mm or 3mm (1/16th or 1/18th) it is only to do so fine tuning if the wheels need a little extra room. I understand the appeal that many people have with the bigger 13" kit, but only hardcore racers will need it. The 11.75" x 1.25" Rally kit is more than enough for HPDEs and doesn't necessitate a rear kit. It is a much better system than stock, and the difference can easily be felt. Let me know what kind of wheels you intend to use.
do the 325i sport/race kits work with 15" ronal ls wheels?
I suggest that you get to the website and download the profiulees in .pdf format. Print them, cut them out and test against your wheels. Most likely, the Race kit won't fit but the Sport kit will. Two calipers are available: Forged Superlite and BNDL (smaller, offering more clearance)
While paying my bills with Wilwood yesterday, I learned there was a slight price hike (minor), but also that I must charge California taxes on Wilwood parts, not on installation kits. Are you in California? So here is how it goes with the revised price.
Installation kit: $650usd (no change - no tax) + $35usd shipping = $685usd
HD rotors - $75usd each (was $70usd) x 2
SL6R - $310usd each x 2
WHere do I send to in case I send a check?? PM me. This comes with everything needed to install and all that correct? JUst checking. Is yur paypal the gmail account?
Yes, the kit includes every nut and bolt (and brakelines) to install it. No extra part required. The only mod that I recommend is to slightly grind off the excess metal casting/flashing of the control arms toward the rotor. 20 years of driving has stressed the spindles and they sometimes are out of specs. On my own car, one spindle was a bit more canted than the other. Removing the flashings will take about 5 minutes and will not interfere with the control arms' integrity. It will allow the spindles to bend in very high G corners without letting the control arms contact the rotors.
do the 325i sport/race kits work with 15" ronal ls wheels?
I downloaded the PDF's today and it looks like the Sport Dynalite caliper will fit an LS without mods (maybe a 1mm spacer to be ultra safe) and the Sport Superlights with a 10mm spacer. 57mm studs and a 10mm spacer should do the trick for Sport/Superlights 11.75x.81 on an LS Ronal.
Did not measure my LS's for the race kit. For what it's worth my LS's are 15x7.5 25mm offset.
My results may vary, measure for yourself before you buy!
