Dammit! I am instead working on a '99 Grand Am alarm...what a PITA!

Hey Luke it seems like you got a good thing going here. After pulling out of debt and so on i can finally afford to get a substage. Would it be possible if you could make a smaller box .7 - .8 ft^3 (internal) and tuned between 32-34hz? I have no tools and and no time to make my own and i have a little dayton HO just waiting for that box.
Didnt put this in Pm's for the bump :)Leave a comment:

Linus, the M3 rear deck is longer (front to back) to accommodate the rear window angle. If you look, it has an added section just for that reason.
The strut brace is a bitch, though. Send me a pic of the damn thing, would you?
I will be doing my GF's '89 tomorrow (12/17), so pics should be up then.

Hey Luke -
It would help to see a shot in-thread (yup, I'm lazy) of what this would involve to run vs. what equip needs to be ditched / modified.
In my case, I still have my ski tunnel uncut (if I even have a punch-out, M3?) - and I have a tower bar.
Another thought - I'm 99.9% sure they are the same, but are E30M3 decks different in any real appreciable manner? I'm pretty sure its just the cosmetics of the bonded rear window frame that is different, and the deck panels in the cabin.
Can we get some rough dimensions - or did I miss them already?Leave a comment:

Um...no thanks. I absolutely love what I do, and am always disgusted by outsourcing. You shuld have someone mass produce the boxes for you. You'd still make a hefty profit and not have to do as much work. I'm not sure how it works in Portland but in LA we have an automotive wholesale district where you can get whatever you want built for cheap as long as you have a license. Or buy a lot of stuff.
Rarely is a product improved by mass production.

I can get some pics of the box I bought from Jordan if that is the style you are planning on making. Luke built my box and it sounds fantastic.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I think a type R or a 10W6 will fit. I tell you though, that damn Sony from WalMart really sounds good!
Whatever you want to use for a woofer is no issue, really. Look for "Qts" to be under .4 and you will be impressed. Custom porting will be to whatever woofer you choose, so if you do decide to go for it, let me know, OK?
On the upholstery front, what I recommend is to use the template I will provide to make a rear panel that makes it look all custom. People always ask me where my sub is...and it is 2.7 cubic feet!
I can provide them upholstered or not, provide materials or not depending on what you wanna pay.
Looks like I will have to build my GF's subwoofer monday. Hers will have 1 very old school Cerwin Vega. I will take thorough pics and measurements. If someone wants to copy my shit, feel free.
As far as shipping estimates go, who knows. I need to find a good source to ship these cheap, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know on that, too.
Thanks for all the interest, guys.
Help me keep my tiny little company in business!

Well, I'm too lazy to take the box out of my car...so here are the photos in the car...It still needs to be upholstered. The top deck was graciously reupholstered by Luke w/ a port tube into the box. The sub in this case goes where a rear armrest would be if you had an armrest rear seat.

I'd luv to see a box IN and OUT of the car..........
I'd be into one if I didn't have my Microsub box from JL 3 8w6's w/ dual voice cold. Very nice with Focals up frontLeave a comment:
