    count me in

When do you think this will get off the ground? Or maybe I should ask: when are you hoping it will?

One more thing, can we add an amp onto or inside the box for a more clean look? Or would that be a no-no?
You could add an amp to the outside no problem (how most people do it), but mounting on on the inside is a no-no.

So how is this going to work? Are you going to set an end date for the groupbuy or start working with people individually as they commit?

Figure it like this. Higher notes like from about 50Hz and up come through the back seat. Lower notes, like from 50hz and down come through the port tubes, and the rear deck.

Worst possible seat choice is the thick leather "Sport" seat. Best choice is the armrest seat, cloth or M3 or even pleather is better than Leather Sports...

DLS's? I wouldn't. Higher order crossovers need more power. Grab a couple of 2 channel amps, or better still a 4 channel and a 2 channel.

Stereoinstaller. Kudos for putting this together. As an ex car stereo installer and still a principal in a local car stereo shop it should be said that not only is this a great price, but a great offering. Jump aboard guys!!!!

I sent you a pm as well.

I also heard that this subwoofer would like a larger size enclosure from a guy who ran the specs with winsid i think. But i heard this woofer in about a slightly smaller than a cubic foot ported enclosure, tuned low, in a trunk car and i liked how it blended with the mids pretty well.

Yeah, definitely don't want it sealed. Unfortunately, some of those reviews come from some pretty misguided people :) Thanks for taking a look Luke.

Adam, you sure you wanna go sealed? Those specs look like a perfect candidate for large vented box, without graphing it I would guess about 1.8 cubic feet tuned stupid low at about 30Hz. That .33 Qts and really fucking low Fs of 24Hz would make an absolute beast of a low bass monster...except for the 87db/w/m being kinda low, the thing should have an excellent sound. Plus the 12mm Xmax worries me with sealed, unless you have an infrasonic filter.

I love how the one guy says it hit harder than his HX2 Fosgates. His Fosgates are likely the #1 most misunderstood woofer in the world. The 10's really come alive using about 3 cubic feet each...maybe as small as 2.2 cubic...but he is talking about .6 cubic feet each...shit, no wonder he replaced them!

Those Daytons do look like a wonderful woofer. Nice to see a 2.5" voice coil, would have been great to see the VC former be aluminum too.

    pics soon, guys!

    Luke,

Here is an idea - what if you can provide "pre-engineered" enclosures for people that were ready to be assembled by people with some skillz at screwing things? You could do the design and cutting according to a person's particular driver, then ship them the pieces and they put it together. Sort of like those kits you buy for the pre-fab furniture. Then you would only have to subcontract out to someone in a third-world country to put together some poorly written assembly instructions that we won't read anyway. Would that be of use to anyone? It may not be less weight but easier to ship and if they could do the work for the ports they possibly could do the box assembly too. Anyway - figured I would throw that out there...
