You sound like the one who's threadshitting. Did that post have any value? He's offering a suggestion and proposing reasoning behind it. You're just bitching and name calling like a 5 year old.

Nobody here is shitting on EJ's skidplates. I've recommended them to friends numerous times because I know they can take a beating. But for the guys running extra low on less then perfect streets - you're GOING to seriously whack the shit out of the plate every once in a while.

There's a market for a stronger plate, and I think EJ knows that if he doesn't produce something, then he's missing out on a section of the market that will just end up going elsewhere.

I figure 165 for an intro price then paying like 50-75 later for the bigger hoop is a very good upgrade path. Spreading out payments on mods is very useful for the broke crowd. Which, lets face it, is the quintessential E30 driver.

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

I don't know that I will sell many. But for the guys that feel they need it. I should have a brace ready in a few weeks.

Since the skid plate ties the front subframe and radiator support together, would the brace help at all toward increased chassis stiffness?

Peerless made that claim for quite a while with his. I'd believe it'd just as effective for either one, if it is effective at reducing flex (makes sense to me, but I dunno).

That is, by connecting the subframe to the frame rails (and the frame rails to each other), not by connecting to the radiator support.

We've just fitted one of the EJNIGHT Race Skids to the PBMW Project E30, they'll be a full feature and review in an upcoming issue soon.
but in short, we're very happy with the design, quality and fit of the plate.
we're running the car very low (stupid low) and the plate has already saved the oilpan more than a few times.

I'd just like to thank EJ for the plates he produced.
I swear to it that it has already saved me about 5 times with marks to prove it.
                      Highly recommended!

                      Thank you EJ!

Pretty much everything in Chicago on a daily basis.

The detonator was train tracks mixed with horrid pavement.

The dent in the plate and the cracks in the pan are different hits and in different locations. The cracks are front pass. side. The dents are all towards the rear.

                                You should see the subframe...:(
