I'm interested in the GB, but these pics from the other thread just scare me. Yeah, yeah not the same rims - but this is just ridiculous (and not in a good way):

It looks like 16x9 means a small balloon for a tire, and possibly rolling fenders. I'm looking for performance first, looks second - and I'm not some teenager trying to be baller with a slammed E30 - so I want the widest tire I can fit under stock fenders (late model). With that in mind, which rim size and tire combination in the group buy would be best for a late model on E30 M3 springs? Here's my car as it sits now on 17x7 rims with 215/40 tires all around:

How much more tire can I get on the ground without rubbing or rolling fenders?

By the way, I should mention that I know how to STF. Everyone's favorite wheel/tire fitment sticky thread is helpful, but I'm looking for specific info on these GB rims...

Did you read the thread? That's Mystikal suggest going with ET 10, so you won't HAVE to use spacers.

            These will be direct fitment.

The widest tire you can run will be a 225 on a 7.5" wide wheel (without looking like a roller skate). Even with that you MAY need a very very slight roll in the rear. But since you are on e30 M3 springs then you might get away without it. I know of plent of people running 225s on 15x7.5 wheels.

Surprised Ary didnt chime in here since he sells RS replicas in 16x7.5 outside of this group buy. As far is 9" wheels go... the bigger the tire the more you will look like a roller skate. And to pull off the stretched look you would have to lower your car a lot more then the springs you got on there now.

Three sizes bigger is not performance. This wheels are all about the look, and a good one if done right :)

i need traction. my stock basketweaves hardly stay on the ground at the track, and i'm about to be turbo'd. i need as much rubber on the ground as possible, and i dont mind rolling my fenders. what size wheel would you recommend?

What sizes tires are you suggesting people use on the rear with your 16x9 ET10 wheels?

It seems like the only ones that might fit are 215/40 or 215/45 but they will be really stretched on a 9" wheel!

Why not ET20 or ET25 so 225/40/16s can be used and people can spacer-out if they want more "poke".
