There are such a small number of "153" DME's around that I didn't officially release a performance chip for it. Also, I consider the maps in the 173 and later DME's to be better.
The DME's after the 153 also have more integration in them, all the circuits are on a single board and it should be more reliable.
Try to find a used 173 or 380 DME, and use that. It's a direct drop-in.

    Hi Guys,

I've got 18 orders paid for as of 1:00 PM EST so those people get 15% off plus the extra 3% early bird discount! (that's between the 3 forums this has been mentioned on). I had not expected this level of interest, I thought I may sell 9 or 10 chips... Thanks for the great response, it usually takes me 3 or 4 months to sell 18 chips. I've talked to my shipper and he expects to process the orders on Sunday, and mail them out by USPS Priority Post on Monday. They should be arriving at your homes around Thursday.

There's still time to get in on this 18% discount by placing your order today. But you can still get 15% off till Dec 5.

    Thanks,

    Mark

If you have a 153 ECU, you need a 153 chip from Mark.

If you have a 173 ECU, you need a 173 chip from Mark.
If you have a 380 ECU, you need a 173 chip from Mark.
If you have a 525 ECU, you need a 173 chip from Mark.

BTW the M20B25 chips were tested/developed on my car here in Toronto, and I'll fully back up the claims that the gains are very noticeable. And yes, don't try to run 91 octane with a 93 chip. We attempted that on the first road test of that software, and there was instant detonation under full throttle. Which is good, because you know that the mapping is more aggressive than the 91 chip, which means more power for those of you in the lucky states.

Glad to see such a strong response to this GB, MarkD's stuff has always had sterling reputation but without the steady sales to back it up.

people will buy it no problem, especially if you sell it to them at the price you got it.

I know for the TMS chips you have to specify what ECU number you have, which is why I'm hesitant to say it's fine on the Mark D chips. But when I was looking on the EAT website, it just says if you have the M20 motor, nothing about ECU numbers. Maybe his are different than the TMS chips? I honestly have no idea.
ECU #s are listed under DME. All of the DMEs listed end in 173, so you'll need a 173 ECU. They go for sale almost daily on this forum, and can be had for very cheap. Could even sell yours to compensate. Pretty sure the DME swap is just plug and play, some people even say the 173 ECU idles better. I think the 173 model comes labeled as 380 and 525 sometimes too, you'll have t ask Mark if the 173 chips work in those (or search).

Damn Alk, don't you ever sleep? That's a late response there, lol.

there is a stock chip already in your ECU
it sounds like your ecu is a 153 though, im not totally sure if the chip would work. i was under the impression that the mark d chip is for a 173 ecu.
somebody can prolly clear this up since im not too familiar with the differences and whatnot

Go to his site and order whatever chip you want. Once you order, put the code R3V TGB in the "special instructions" box so that Mark will know you are part of this deal. He will refund you your money through PayPal once the group buy is over.
Once you've paid, put your name on the master list so we can keep track of how many have ordered one.
