17x8" ET25: Lightweight Track Wheels: APEX ARC-8 HERE NOW!
Wow!!! 17" x 8" wheels on an e30 would be the shnitzit. I hope this production will happen as that will be a great wheel. Especially that the wheel is proven to be BBK-friendly.
yeah for that price point in 17x8 with brake clearance would be cool. I spent over 2k for custom wheels in that size for my ix to clear a bbk. Thumbs up if it happens. Not to mention 17x8's look badass.
So I received a quick design of what the change would look like for a 4 lug et25 (still not set on what the offset would be). They would be able to mill material away to have a center cap area just like on the 5 lug wheel and it would just come with a smaller click in cap. I didn't tell them what center bore to make it, as it was just a quick question. I noticed they left that at 72.6mm so that would be changed. There are lots of other small changes that would be needed. I didn't ask for this wheel graphic, but here it is just for reference.
I received another sample of the hyper silver finish today since the last sample had too much silver sprayed over the black. it's very hard to capture this finish in photos, as out in the sun the darkness gets washed out by reflections in the face, and with a flash it picks up a lot of the black. When you see it in person it's a middle ground between the 3 pictures below. Although it is noticeably dark in low light.
they are both hyper finishes so there is no difference between the two. but as of right now they are both running a $10 premium over standard finishes. Depending on what people want on the 4x100 groupbuy, I may make the premium finishes a standard price. We'll see what the discount pricing will be. My first priority will be to provide free shipping for those who pre-order (once the mandatory minimum is met)
I ran the numbers and 4x100 17x8" wheels are a go if we get 25 people signed up. These would come in the second shipment including e36 17x8-17x9" wheels. This gives us about 1 month to find the 25 people, and then about 2 weeks to make the pre-payment. Wait time on wheels once all payments are received would be 1.5-2 months. The design still has to be finalized, the mold has to be modified, and a sample sent out. All this will happen as we are just signing up still. I'll constantly be posting updates as I have been. This should make for a very speedy headache free process, with the shortest wait time after sending payment.
I know we e30 people are a frugal bunch, so the GroupBuy price for these wheels will be structured to to get people the max discount possible for each buyer instead of spreading the cost of premium services across to all buyers.
GroupBuy price is a follows:
$249 each with FREE domestic shipping on a set of four (48 states only)
Hyper Finishes (Hyper Silver, Hyper Black) are a $10 premium per wheel.
Group must meet strict minimum of 25 pre-orders
Pre-order payments are full price and not deposits, due to the short wait time, and custom production run. (same format as current pre-order).
Wheels will be available after pre-order but will be charged for shipping, and the prices may could increase as much as $25 a wheel.
Please continue the interested list.

Good job Eddy.
And so light. I wouldve gone with the OZ superG's.. An inch wider, couple pounds lighter, and the correct offset. Its an easy decision.

You guys are the ones that need to post this up on other forums. I'm only a supporting vendor on bimmerforums. Non vendors on larger forums get banned, plus I'm only a member on a few of them. In a few weeks once the site is finalized I'll sign up to be an official vendor on here as well.
If you want your groupbuy price, you have to do a little group marketing :-P
Anyone have these pictured on an e30 M3, or perhaps someone can photoshop a set of these on an e30..... just trying to get an idea of what these will look like with the square lines of the e30.
I have a close up of them mounted on the front of my e30 m3 posted on the first page. None of the sample wheels have tires mounted as I was not given permission to do so, plus a professional photographer will be taking images of them to be used on retail sites.
But here is a picture of a non APEX brand mesh wheel on my M3 that looks similar.
