if you can get your hands on the entire car(not just the engine), you can find a way to use enough of the the electrical system and computers to make it work in stock form. i think you could pretty much make anything work that way.

Well, you are in Australia, so the Euro S50 would be your only choice. Yes though, that was a Euro motor. Only modifications over stock are the intake (carbon fiber intake), custom headers, and a chip. Pretty impressive power in my opinion.

That was on an engine dyno. I want to say it translated to ~307 whp, but dont quote me. I'm not sure what he is running. Most likely it is OBDI. Might even be Motec, Megasquirt, or something else silly. It's a full out race car, he wont even drive it around on the street. Weighs 2300 lbs too; I think it sounds like the perfect dd.

^^You are right about the throttle body. To clarify-- It is present, but only used for startup and as a failsafe if there is a problem with the Valvetronic system. Once the car is running the throttle stays open and the Valvetronic completely regulates the intake of air.

Wish I had a picture of the system. I rebuilt one of these (a 3.0 litre) and it was a very neat system. Beautiful motor too, short block looked awesome with the brand new pistons and sandwich metal block.

NAY.... n54 get 334 tq @ 1500 rpm.... it shits on the s54 in terms of torque and about the same hp plus can be tuned to make more on stock turbos

Correct. When N54 gets older and cheaper, it will be a popular power plant for swaps. Any straight six with turbos on is a winner.

Well, a lot has changed in FIFTEEN years. The N52's are all over the junkyards now and M50's are antiques

I think it's pretty much a perfect e30 swap as well as maybe turbo K24
