if you can get your hands on the entire car(not just the engine), you can find a way to use enough of the the electrical system and computers to make it work in stock form. i think you could pretty much make anything work that way.

Wish I had a picture of the system. I rebuilt one of these (a 3.0 litre) and it was a very neat system. Beautiful motor too, short block looked awesome with the brand new pistons and sandwich metal block.

Guy in Russia, transferred everything from newer BMW into race E30. Not N52 but N54
this is another video of him drifting with it, at 0:22 second mark you can pause the video and see N54 in his E30 and tires lit the entire drift course
