I just recently bought an M50 swapped 318i (red label ECU) with no spark and I decided to diagnose even more and figured out that the fuel pump was unplugged so I plugged it in and unplugged the fuel line going to the fuel rail and cranked it over with no fuel coming out at all. The fuel pump isn't priming at all. Also, whenever I turn the key there is no hum from the icv, i have a ghetto positive terminal and think it might be that but I could be wrong. I was hoping I can get a list of things to check explained in the most simple way possible because I have no experience with wiring.

If your m50 is non-vanos, try flipping the cam and crank sensors connections. I had the same issue when trying to get mine started and it ended up just being the cam sensor plugged into where the crank sensor should be, and vice versa. Also just make sure that your crank sensor isn't fried, that controls if you get spark, fuel, and if your fuel pump will prime. Good luck
