Best donor car?

Have a 84 318 that needs the m10 out of it yesterday.

I’m picking up a e34 525, and wasn’t sure what the best route for the swap would be.

is this car useable? Or would it be easier to find say a 325 or 328 to use?

tried looking up e34 donor cars and wasn’t finding much info as mostly every write up only mentions e36s being used.

The donor car won’t matter too much, but you do have the correct oil pan and associated bits so that’s one less thing to buy. The 84 has a rectangle c101 vs the round one, but still just ~7wires IIRC to make everything function. There’s also a wire that needs to go into the glovebox. I’m a little foggy on the details, but if you can find my thread in the 24v sub forum it should be in there.
