    E30 obd1 m50 swap cutting fuel at 40mph

Just recently got everything working on the gauge cluster and have the car on jackstands.

Anyway was testing the speedo out and revved out to hit 40mph and as soon as I do it cuts fuel and acts like there is no more throttle.

Can get right back into it after it slows speed.

Any ideas what might cause this? Maybe tps?

Is the vehicle speed sensor signal connected to the DME?

If it is, and you're getting a cutout consistently at 40, the VSS might be being interpreted as a multiple of 40 (120?) and invoking the vehicle speed limit.
Some DMEs have a limit, and the fix is simply to remove the VSS signal from the DME.

long shot, but in racing a 524 M20 DME, I discovered that it has a limit at 126 mph...

Could make sense as it had a 4.1 lsd swapped in it. Previous owner never hooked up the diff sensor.

Is there a fix if that is the case other than having no speedo?

Ill test by unppugging it later today
