E30 temp sensor single wire for m50

Trying to get cluster temp gauge working and I have read I need the e30 sensor. I kniw how to get it in the head but my question is how do i adapt the 2 wire harness to a single?

I assume its not as easy as plugging in the m50 connector.

it's pretty much as easy as figuring out which of the 2 M50 harness wires is going to the gauge,
depending on what's happening in your C101 adapter. The M50 clusters supplied ground tp the sensor as well
as read signal from it, so one wire on the M50 end should be pinned through C101 to the dash connection for the temp gauge.........
