How badass is an e30 s50?

I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on a clean, low mileage s50. I just want to know how impressed you guys were with the car after completing the swap. The car makes me smile now so I'm wondering how much fun it is with another ~80 horsepower.

Has anyone been disappointed with the results after an s motor? I've never ridden in a swapped car or even an e36.

Thanks for your sharing your experiences.:):)

You will have a smile on your face the whole time besides traffic. I thought it was worth it in the end. In the rain somtimes its alot to handle and with breaking you get a good amount of nose dive but not as much as a m30 would.

Dont be mad danny are cars are faster ;)

I've seen some scary fast ones (e30Polak for example, fucking scary how fast he walked away from me one night) but I personally prefer something I can control (a more holistic approach, a ballance if you will).

They're fast, but not "scary fast that I cannot control".

                      And yes, they are badass.

They are slow. You should just buy mine to save yourself the trouble of having to do the swap. I'm thinking of putting a turbo motor in a 2002 so I can actually have a decently quick car.

For what it's worth, I can pull away from an E46 M3 easily. It is entertaining enough for me, but I want to mess with the big new cars with 400+ ponies. I'm a good old redneck fellow who's thirsty for power. Some's good, more's better.

What does that have to do with it? Most modern cars coming out of Japan have 240 horsepower on tap from the factory as a starting point. Twin cam motors arent all that really. Sure they are quick, but there are plenty of cars out there that will make a joke of them rolling right off the dealer lot.
