    AC Adapter

Looking to get the AC running on my S50 swap and came across the adapter below. I don't have a clue if this could be made to work on our cars but may be worth a try. Any AC guru's out there that want to tell me if my thoughts are way off base or does anyone know of a similar product. I've called around to several shops in town and have been quoted $150 for custom lines. I am thinking something like this would be much easier and cheaper. Any thoughts or opinions welcomed.

For that price, I would definitely give it a shot. I am glad you posted this as I have never seen adapters like this before, but they make perfect sense for our applications. I can't recall what size our high and low pressure fittings are, so making sure they are the same as these adapters would be a good idea first.

That is cool. I did it by having e36 fittings brazed onto my e30 hose which wasn't too bad, either.

Does anyone know the thread size for the stock e30 compressor?

Maybe it would be easier to just use a splicer to connect the 2 lines. They have #10 to #10 splicer but I hear the e36 line is a larger diameter so maybe the #10 to #12 splicer would do the trick and only $3-4 each.

Bump...Thanks to Dominic for the link to Rays. I ordered 2 spicers and it works perfect. You need a #12 to #10 for the e36 compressor hose (#12) to the e30 return hose from the evap #10. For the compressor to the condenser...I used a line from an e30 318is which had the correct fittings but was long for the swap. I used a #8 to # 8 splicer to shorten this hose. I cut and oriented the hoses and marked them, took them to the local hyraulic line place that had a bubble crimper and I've got game. Grand total under $20 with shipping.

Me too (would be grateful to see pics). Do I need a Bently Manual to know what parts I need and, if so, one for the E30 or one for the E36 or both??? Any detail would be appreciated. Thanks -Noob.

would you mind telling us exactly which adapters you used from rays? this is a much cheaper solution than the custom lines from zionsville. thanks!
