to get the correct temp reading you need to use the e30 temp sensor so you need to
a) tap the head and install like the obd1 motors
b) buy the zionsville manifold and put it in your throttle body heater feed as close to the head as possible. (this is what I did!)
c) install sensor n the place of the fitting for the feed for the throttle heater. I dont like this since no one can confirm that it doesnt screw up coolant flow in the head
d) mount it into some other coolant hose. I think "the racers market" sells an adapter to put it in the upper rad hose.

you cant use the s52 dual purpose coolant temp sensor. the resistance is different and will not work with the stock e30 temp gauge. there are a few options, but the easiest is to tap the head. use the coolant temp sensor for the ECU from the S50.Leave a comment:

Alright... S52 OBD1 conversion question...
Converting an S52 to OBD1. I have an S50 here, complete with all parts so no issue there.
Here's my question...
Can somebody give me the temp sensor wiring information? I'd rather do this myself than pay for a Turner adapter.
Thanks guys.Tags: None
