So can I use a stock S52 radiator in my 87 chassis. I have one in very good condition.

Stock S52 is the same (as far as I can tell) as the 88-91 e30 radiator. The S54 MZ3 ('01 and up) are thicker and mount in stock locations for the 88-91 e30's. If you want to know if it fits, compare the two.

I forgot that S52 is M engine for USA market, we don't have much of those here. in that case, it is best to keep the original radiator, if it fits.

The reason why I mentioned radiators with integrated expansion chamber is because I had some problems with removing air from the sistem and the radiator is complicated than the good ol' separated expansion chamber:D

does anyone use an e36 radiator with the e36 expansion tank? i know it's part of the fan shroud, which most people dont use, but i'd still be interested if someone uses it! i'm a huge fan of integrated coolant reservoirs

My M42 radiator has worked great with the S52. I've got a Mishimoto all-aluminum E36 radiator as well. I'll put it in one day, but no rush as the M42 has worked fine, even in the hot summer weather which I didnt expect.

I've also been using an m42 radiator for about two years and many track days. No issues on my end and it's really easy to do all the plumbing!

Mishimoto makes awesome radiators. I will get one eventually. My buddy builds trophy trucks, and ultimate class baja trucks, and those are the only radiators he uses.

I have a new s52 one. My last one blew on me, stupid plastic!

no one? i've been planning on using a new OEM m42 radiator on my m52 turbo, but i would rather play it safe and use an e36 radiator if i can use the integrated expansion tank on the shroud

how much modification do you have to do to get one of those to fit/plumbed in an e30?
