So can I use a stock S52 radiator in my 87 chassis. I have one in very good condition.

Stock S52 is the same (as far as I can tell) as the 88-91 e30 radiator. The S54 MZ3 ('01 and up) are thicker and mount in stock locations for the 88-91 e30's. If you want to know if it fits, compare the two.'89 325i track sloot

I forgot that S52 is M engine for USA market, we don't have much of those here
. in that case, it is best to keep the original radiator, if it fits.
The reason why I mentioned radiators with integrated expansion chamber is because I had some problems with removing air from the sistem and the radiator is complicated than the good ol' separated expansion chamber:DComment

does anyone use an e36 radiator with the e36 expansion tank? i know it's part of the fan shroud, which most people dont use, but i'd still be interested if someone uses it! i'm a huge fan of integrated coolant reservoirsComment

Mishimoto makes awesome radiators. I will get one eventually. My buddy builds trophy trucks, and ultimate class baja trucks, and those are the only radiators he uses.
I have a new s52 one. My last one blew on me, stupid plastic!Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

no one? i've been planning on using a new OEM m42 radiator on my m52 turbo, but i would rather play it safe and use an e36 radiator if i can use the integrated expansion tank on the shroudComment
