Euro headers, left hand vs right hand drive - any different?

Thanks, that clears it up a lot. The 1-3 section is the trouble maker because it doesn't clear the subframe and then bends over towards the CAB to screw that up, too.
4-6 only has the issue with #6 hitting the firewall but otherwise clears the transmission and everything else.Comment

erik, what did you do with the little holes at the top of each runner where it bolts up the cylinder head? Looks like there are two holes, one is plugged up with a bolt, the other open... shouldn't just leave it open like that right?
edit: found this pic and edited it to show you what I mean.

Good question. I'll have to take a look at them later.erik, what did you do with the little holes at the top of each runner where it bolts up the cylinder head? Looks like there are two holes, one is plugged up with a bolt, the other open... shouldn't just leave it open like that right?

The hole that is not plugged is just for the heatshield that bolts above the headers. I didn't use that heatshield in my m3, so there is nothing in those holes.
Here is a pic I just took for you of my brother's headers with the heatshield installed.

Headers
S50B30 headers came in two flavors, neither had O2 bungs, and both had more sturdy flex sections than the later 3.2 engines had on their headers. The 3.0 version did not have EGT ports as the 3.2 did, and you can see above.
Early ones had cylinder's 4-6 with segmented primaries, later ones were not segmented, more like cylinders 1-3 or like the 3.2's.
3.0 headers are a bit heavier than 3.2 headers.
All headers were identical from LHD to RHD. The headers are very, very good in either case, and up-grading to SS is NOT necessarily going to be an overall improvement unless you're moving gobs of air.
Jet Hot does a very nice job of cleaning up and coating btw... btdt.
Side by side, hand in hand the Euro S54 ones that are hydroformed, and have the lightweight pressed steel flanges are way lighter than the 3.2's...its amazing what a generation of change brought about.
Stay tuned, (no pun intended) I'm going to have some REALLY cool stuff for you guys with the S50's very, very soon I hope....

If I'm reading this right, only the b32's came with o2 sensor's installed? If so I was mislead when I bought these.S50B30 headers came in two flavors, neither had O2 bungs, and both had more sturdy flex sections than the later 3.2 engines had on their headers. Anyway, looks like I have to install o2 bungs since there aren't any ports for them on my headers or my euro midsection!!! yikes.

You are correct sir. Though, I believe that US S54 headers came with 4 O2 bungs, pre and post cat.
But I think you meant "the only" with respect to Euro options, in that case, yeah, only the 3.2 ones had the bungs in place.Comment

interesting. Any exhaust shop should be able to weld bungs in the headers right? it's going to be interesting driving over to a shop with makeshift holders sticking the o2 sensors up the headers :???:
