Solid lifters only come into play at high rpm's when valve float would occur with hydraulic lifters i.e. 7000rpm+ unless you have a hot cam (hotter than an s52 exhaust cam) that can flow at high rpms and of course a chip that will let you spin that high Those are pointless.

You're right but I think it will be worth it. You'll spend a lot of money for very minimal gains. Give Euroguy a call or PM, I wouldn't be surprized if you end up getting an M52 + M50 wiring/dme for like 750 bucks or even less. Then you'll just need to find a set of S52 cams and you'll have serious power.Comment
