Solid lifters only come into play at high rpm's when valve float would occur with hydraulic lifters i.e. 7000rpm+ unless you have a hot cam (hotter than an s52 exhaust cam) that can flow at high rpms and of course a chip that will let you spin that high Those are pointless.

Yea, I figured. I don't think the M50NV rotating assembly could take more than 7500 RPM anyways.Solid lifters only come into play at high rpm's when valve float would occur with hydraulic lifters i.e. 7000rpm+ unless you have a hot cam (hotter than an s52 exhaust cam) that can flow at high rpms and of course a chip that will let you spin that high Those are pointless.1985 325e 2.8 Turbo VEMSComment

Yea, but then I have a boat anchor M50 NV laying around. I'd need the M52 block, head, harness (I'm guessing M50 OBDI Vanos) and ECU. Since I have a NV harness.
Only thing I can use is really my oil pan, pick-up headers and intake manifold.1985 325e 2.8 Turbo VEMSComment

You're right but I think it will be worth it. You'll spend a lot of money for very minimal gains. Give Euroguy a call or PM, I wouldn't be surprized if you end up getting an M52 + M50 wiring/dme for like 750 bucks or even less. Then you'll just need to find a set of S52 cams and you'll have serious power.

Yea, I guess you're right. I can still do the WAR chip, MAF swap intake elbow, throttle body and under drive pullies and then make S5x power for real lol. You're right but I think it will be worth it. I'd give Fil a call, but he usually charges a bit more than simply or euroguy.1985 325e 2.8 Turbo VEMSComment
