I bought 2 used but good relays locally and nothing's working. The K6 relay is still knocking when I try to power the fan.

I thought you said you could get the fan to turn on by powering the BK/BR wire?

I did so much tests, I'm confused. I think that I was powering the BK/BR directly from the battery and I was grounding an other wire also from the battery (don't remember well). So I could have a ground problem. I'll make more tests tonight.

Thanks a lot FredK for your help.

lol I hate the aux fan. I've always had problems with resistors blowing and temp switches going bad. They seem to go bad every 4 years or so on the M3. As a temperary fix for the resistor you can use a very long (like 3-4 feet) of single strand wire. This has about the same 0.6 ohm resistance and enough length not to fry up. I also increased the fuse to 15 or 20Amp to handle the current. Has worked well for me.

This time around I also went with the E36 318Ti (M44) 80/88c temp switch instead of the 91/99c switch which turns the fan on sooner. A popular mod for those looking to get rid of the fan clutch.
