I am considering a swap and I am trying to figure out what type of donor motor to hunt down. What are the pros and cons of the OBD 1 versus OBD2? Thanks

How much easier to do an OBD 1 swap than OBD2?

You can get OBD-II tunes that delete the air pump, back O2 sensors, EWS...........Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Keeping whatever comes with the engine will be the easiest.
I would go OBD2 route simply because the engines are newer, lower mileage and well easier to find (for me).
OBD2 will be more expensive due to the need for removal of EWS and what was mentioned. But its a decent trade-off depending on mileage and availability of engines near you.
Tuning is no longer a big deal although OBD1 still has many more options.
Some say the ultimate is s52 or m52 converted to obd1.
Depending on future plans, this may or may not apply to you.87 OBDII 328is

If I had the options that are out there now, I would have kept the motor OBD-II. Above all else, I much prefer the OBD-II diagnostic interface although OBD-I isnt really that bad..
