I like the part where you did 100mph clearly next to a neighborhood of houses. Good job!
Its a compound. And the street is a 2 way main street. Not a neighborhood. A lot more dangerous than dominic's left hand turn drift on a main straight huh?
dude, w/e to all of these people. They all think they are michael schumacher. Car sounds great, and looks like serious fun... isn't that the most important thing? It is, after all, the reason all of us got into cars....
Besides, we aren't F1 drivers... we are a bunch of poor people who put all of our money into our cars.
1 - I'm gunning it in a straight line and I will not blow up my transmission that way. I am not grinding it in gear.
2 - Of course controlling wheel spin/hop with ideal tread width would be faster but come on be realistic. 205s with an s52 would cause traction issues. Would I have traction issues with 235s on my e30? I highly doubt it.
3 - Inability to shift well? Really? Its a quick vid from 20 - 100mph. Negating power should only apply when launching. Specially on a naturally aspirated car with properly sized/width tires. Of course if this was a 400+ whp e30, negating power between shifts would be the faster solution but this isn't the situation. Completely different scenarios.
4 - I understand your point of view and perhaps I'm using the term "traction issues" loosely but its still valid to an extent given the circumstances.
Sorry but no.

You shifted with your tires spinning. You released the clutch in 2nd gear, and floored it, with the tires still spinning from your 1st gear burnout. That is not a traction issue, it's you not knowing how to put a whopping 230whp to the ground. And if you don't think it's hurting your transmission, good for you, it's your money, not mine.

No, we aren't. Maybe you are? I don't know and don't care.
Yes, the car being fun is what matters. That's why he built it. I still don't see a reason to post a video with a horrible shift technique to demonstrate something false.

... never said I was at all. And that is why I'n not dishing out driving skill insults.
All I am saying is that this guy is proud of the work he did on his car and thought that maybe some people on this e30 forum would appreciate the hard work he put into his car... Guarantee he wasn't looking for insults or driving instruction from people he doesn't know over the internet. He didn't post this to show everyone how well he can shift.
It is just frustrating, the guy works hard on his car; post something he is proud of, and half the people on here just want to tell him about how much he sucks at driving???
BE NICEEE!!!! This should be a friendly environment.

You can clearly see in the vid my traction issues.
At first I felt I was a little harsh, but now that he is denying it's his shift technique that's causing excessive wheel spin, I don't feel that way anymore.
I didn't say anything regarding his swap, I think it looks like a well done and clean swap. You guys take so much offense to anything besides "oh my god that's so cool!!!". You're missing the points. I'm not bashing him, his car, or anything, really. Just stating the fact that his shifting technique and throttle application is the cause of most of his wheel spin, not the power.

You are in the wrong forum for that shit.
This forum is more like the feeling you get when you come home from San Diego and a couple of nude people jump out of your bathroom blindfolded like a goddamn magic show ready to double team your girlfriend.
Keep in mind he just posted a video of himself breaking the law on a internet forum. That alone is enough to get an ass whooping 'round here.

Jgood, once again. This isn't a track nor am I doing a 1/4 mile run. How hard is that to understand? I am not racing against a clock. Should I say it again?
I posted it to give an example of my accelartion when going from 20 - 100mph. Nothing less nothing more. So quit over doing it and nitpicking.
Negating my power to the floor under acceleration would only help to a certain extent. It will not make me from slow to fast as you swear by it. It is a fairly small margin for a 230whp e30 car compared to a 400+ whp e30. If e30 swapped cars didn't have traction issues, why is it that they always go wider tread widths to compensate for the power of the engine? Because stock 195s aren't going to cut it, nor is 205s. Swap a s52 in your four door with 205/40/16 and stiff suspension and tell me you don't have traction issues.
Damn, if you don't have anything nice to say, then shut up. You're just wasting my time.

So you're saying you've never "broken the law" with your car? Get over yourself.
Jasper, you should've just posted this on BFC. R3V members don't build their cars to go fast in the straight line. ;)
At least you can see my speedo. I have less tire and lighter wheels then most of you fuckers and yet I can still hook up in 2nd onwards... Oh yeah that's right, I've been to driving schools...
lets see my car
11/88 325iA (four door) converted to manual
s50 with zf and 3.73welded
205-50-15 nitto neo gen on team dynamics 1.2s
ie stage 3
bilstein sport
urethane motor and trans
thr cabs
75d trailing arm bushings
75d subframe bushings
aluminum diff mount
IE big ole sway bars
minor weight reduction
no wheelspin in first rolling in to the power
sure i can powershift into secound and make them spin but other than that i just dont get the big wheelspin claims that all y'all are spitting out
this is how i feel about the r3v 24v is the best thing since tits community...
Ok, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because I can't see your speedo so I can't quote numbers. How long did it take to get from 20 to 100? Why don't you post a higher quality video where you can see the speedo and start from a standstill like I did? That should be a pretty clear view of your car's abilities plus we'll be able to see some hard numbers, rather then just judging by the local scenery whizzing by...
