    Also, if you're considering a m52tu forget it and go straight to the m54.
    The m54 has a mid range punch and a top end that the m52tu cant get close to.
    I prefer the m52 with m50 manifold to the m52tu.

          It's possible if you want to either delete the exhaust-side VANOS or use a standalone VANOS controller. OBD-I ECUs do not support dual VANOS.

            I ran my M54 straight OBD1 for a few months until I got the VANOS controller working. I used an rpm activated switch for the DISA.

            It works fine.
