    S50 Lift points?

I see the front one... But were you guy are hooking the rear of the engine/trans assy? Is there a hidden lift point or I need to strap it?

    Thanks!

There is a hole in the intake manifold in between 5 and 6 that the chain goes through and a bolt threads into the bracket that sits above the starter. You can just put a bolt and the chain through the bolt.

Is there not an eyelet hole above the starter on the block like the m50?

There is the metal eyelet right above the starter on the x50/52 blocks. That is the lift point, I would NEVER lift a motor out with a chain running in between two plastic intake runners.

            ^ This.

I was about shocked to see someone suggest that.

That bracket is a lift point, though? PN 11111726768? You can thread a long M10 bolt into it.

If you guys are afraid of putting stress on the manifold, if you use the rear cast eyelet, there's really no way to avoid stressing the manifold when you get the engine nearly vertical to shoehorn it into the engine bay.

If you're going to strap it, strap it by the exhaust manifold.

Should I remove the intake manifold?

I just told you what the hole was for.

                  And.

You shouldn't be putting the motor in with the intake manifold on any unless you did some serious bending you have to hook up the heater core lines with it off. And dealing with all the shit down there is a lot easier with it off.

Ive lifted an I6 by the exhaust. It gets really off balance. Thats why the two designed lift points are in a row. Due to the engines slant it keeps it hung nicely (no pun intended)

I bolted a spare engine lift ring to a tapped hole on the rear of the head. Worked like a charm.

you don't need to remove the manifold. you can run the chain through the hole in the manifold or around the back side. the manifold will handle the "stress" if that is what you call it. don't waste your time taking the manifold off to lift the engine. completely unnecessary.
