I'm not one to talk, but I have to agree, driving 100+ mph is a bit non-sense. Specially on public roads. You just NEVER know what'll happen. Like my Dad always said to me about driving fast, or doing anything remotely illegal: "It's not IF you get caught, it's when..."

And getting caught is not just getting your license revoked by the Five-OH!, it can be a devastating crash that leaves you paralyzed. Sure it's fun, but it's not always worth it.

On topic, it does sound like you're hitting the ECU Speed Nazi. Bad fuel maps as someone has said above, etc etc... get a reputable chip and install it yourself or have them do it. Flea-bay is crap. And don't trust the PO unless you check it out. Last time a PO told me he put a Mark D chip in it, I pulled it apart when I got home. Was there a chip? Yes, a Lay's Wavy in the glove box.

and FWIW my M20 with a 525 ecu was speed limited at 125 (both stock and stroked), with megasquirt it'll go another 10mph before it's not worth the trouble.
