My M52 backyard swap almost complete - Some questions with pictures for the pros!

Just finishing up my M52 -> e30 swap. I'm done hours and hours of searching and my confusion is coming from different sources saying different things, so maybe you guys can help me sort this out... --->> It is an M52 motor with OBD1 Conversion. (manifold, wiring harness, dme, sensors, etc.)

    Question 1:
MY power steering pump that come on the m52 doesn't have the normal hallow screw like I'm seeing most have... instead I have this (see picture) Any suggestions?

    Question #2:
My Cam sensor plug is a male adapter and my cam plug on the wiring harness is a male plug???? Huh?

    Question #3:
Intake & Hose routing questions (best described by photo).

    and

    Question #4 :
Finally - I can't figure out the rest of the intake... I need a 'T' connect that goes from "???" then T's off one into the IDV and the Other into the PCV ? Then from there it goes PCV to the intake annnd IDV to "???"

Oh man... If someone could fill in the blanks that would make a huge difference... Again everywhere I look it's either "now just hook it all back together and drive!" ooorrrr images so cluttered I can't distinguish a hose from a cable ooorrrr one person says 1 thing while another contradicts...

    Thanks guys! 8)

The one you cut looks like either the MAF, or the Charcoal canister.

The hose at the back of the head goes to the bottom. Confusing lookng on REAL OEM.

            A. Use that connection, it's normal. High pressure supply to the rack has the banjo, low pressure return from the resevoir just use a hose clamp.

            A. What wiring harness is on the motor? Do you still have the OBDII wiring harness installed?

            Question #3:
Intake & Hose routing questions (best described by photo).

Top one is the oil breather. DO NOT put coolant in there unless you want us to get a good laugh..

Coolant expansion tank gets plumbed to the end of the metal pipe.

I blocked my throttle body connections. No need, IMO.

I have one labeled MAF so I don't think it's that..

Thanks - Do you happen to know the part number for that hose? ... I don't have it, gatta order it. So then the metal T goes to the top?

You will need to do a continuity check between the cut wires and the pins on the ECU. You may also be able to tell from the colors of the wires.

SO answers I've gathered so far.

Q1. - There should be a non-banjo fitting coming from the power steering res that clamps on the low presure side of the pump? .. I don't recall seeing this, but will look. The strange part is on the e30 there were 2 banjo fittings on the old pump and I have for sure, 2 banjo lines that reach the new pump... soo one of these isn't supposed to be there?

Q2. - The wiring harness is allegedly off of an OBD1 s50 m3... I say allegedly, because I purchased it from the forums... there are some differences from the Obd2 one that came off the engine i believe. Is it possible I have the wrong Cam sensor? Can anyone verify that the OBD1 is a male end or female end?

Q3. - I got the throttle hoses right. Then the line off of the back of the block goes to the BOTTOM of the heater lines and line coming off of the front goes into a metal line (came with the obd2) and then into the TOP of the heater lines against the firewall.
Then the metal line has a split that comes off - and the larger fitting goes to the Coolant Res.
Where does the oil breather go?

Q4. - I'm still a little confused about the intake lines / PCV and ICV. Can anyone give a breif description?

Q5. - not sure about which one is cut still. I will double check the color of the wires later and post.

                      ----

Also I'm building a site dedicated to this swap, because I've passed a ton of misleading or not specific enough information on the web, so I will be sure to go into GREAT detail every step of the way.

I'll help you out on your last picture.

-Your throttle body connections are correct.
-"what about this one?" goes to the coolant reservoir tank
-back of the head goes to the bottom of the heater core at the firewall
-"to coolant reservoir?" is not correct. that is your crank case ventilation. it should have a "valve" that plugs into the valve cover. off of that valve, should be a small and a big connector for vacuum hoses. the small nipple goes to the hose that connects your ICV to the intake manifold. the large nipple goes to the bottom of the intake elbow that connects the MAF to the throttle body.

                          -Brian

I should add that the above is for OBD1 hookup. OBD2 is slightly different. what are you running?

Great point. My picture is for OBD2 as the title says m52. Didn't see anyhing saying OBD1.

Yes, it is m52, but I'm running OBD1 swap - I have OBD1 s50/m50 intake manifold - all OBD1 sensors (knock, cam, crank) - allegedly OBD1 wiring harness - and 413 Red Label DME.

So would the heater/coolant setup be differant if I was doing the OBD1 conversion? How about the intake stuff?
