    5bar aftermarket FPR?

Anyone have expirence with a good aftermarket FPR that goes up to 5bar. I originally wanted an Aeromotive A1000 but they only clam 75psi on their site and only 70psi on Summit. That is way to close to the end of adjustability for me.

I looked at the AEM one that goes up to 100psi but I have no expirence with it. Any thoughts?

Is there something unique about the plumbing of a stock 5 bar FPR?

not really... just that in the s54 the FPR is stuck on the end of a massive fuel filter that i reaaally dont want to find a spot for. A nice aftermarket adjustable would allow me to use the stock fuel filter or later an aftermarket one.

I really had my heart set on the aeromotive but the 75psi max killed it. I am just looking for reliable other options.

how is it so far? hold a stable pressure? Responsive to vac all the way down to idle?

Did you use AN fittings for your hole fuel system or did you use some kind of AN to barb fitting? Sorry for the million questions...

Been fine for 5 years. I also have a fuel pump and fuel filter from them. A pressure gauge is plumbed off the FPR sending data to my AIM and pressure is solid. But I also have a fuel cell. Whole fuel system is not stock. To get the old FPR off I had to cut a hard line on the motor and put an AN fitting on and it works fine. I think I have a thread on the bf.c Euro forum talking about the FPR.

Why not go not go with a bosch style FPR sand an aftermarket housing? Thats what I am doing. Hit me up on messenger if you want more details.

Old thread, but I thought I'd bring it back to life as I found on the internetz mention that the dodge 2.2l turbo motors had a stock 4 bar bosch fpr. Looks like it'll mount right up to the rail, and you just need to get a metric thread to barb fitting or run an lines. Seems a lot cheaper than most aftermarket adjustable doohickeys.

Why not just install the S54/s62 unit with its fuel filter? it fits perfectly into a E36M, is a 5.0 bar unit and you can pnp a 3.5 bar m50 unit if desired.

one could easily fit it on the up mount frame rail on intake side of engine bay, would just be a clamp to rail for the fuel filter, it also is nice because its RETURNLESS rail - CLEAN return from the FPR back to tank.

I plan on separating the S54 regulator from the filter and use a metric to an fitting to hose barb to plumb in between them. The regulator is a 12mm and the filter seems to be too. This way you can mount the filter anywhere and put the regulator somewhere near the engine.

Why would you complicate things more? More effort to Create a less than stock reliability system!!

The fpr is designed to return from under the car and only one fuel line needs to run into the engine bay.
e30's have fuel filters, adapt the modern s54 filter.

S54 is return less rail: bmw did this in all e46 era cars. The fpr is near the fuel tank in e39m application

I believe you could "deconstruct" the stock BMW S54/S62 fpr and just use the insert part in any number of aftermarket holders, might make for a nicer package for you.

Also, depending on your transmission choice, you may find real estate next to the transmission to mount the longish filter and regulator in a customized fashion that doesn't preclude having the fpr mounted on the end of the filter.

If you have trouble finding the barbs you need, pm me.

I'd just use the S54 FPR in the location it's meant for (right next to the frame rail). You can get a basically brand new, "used" S54 FPR with a filter for under $50 on ebay. you can get the rest of the hardware for mounting it on the frame rail from BMW (I'd use all stock E46 M3 stuff). summitracing.com has the cheapest S54 consumables I can find - good quality stuff, too. their fuel filter is $26.50. NGK plugs are "cheap" at $9.83 a peice. lol :)

nice thing about the S54 FPR is it has a built in schraeder valve that you can tap into for a digital FP gauge. I'd like to be able to datalog FP (I have an pressure gauge now but it's not useful while driving the car).
