I know a couple people who have auto m50 in their E30's. So it can be done. Sorry I can't get any info for you. One of them is a kid whose dad has too much time on hand so he converted his kid's car for fun. Another is a BMW shop owner who doesn't use internet.

I know this isn't any help but good luck with the conversion.
If I hadn't been too lazy to figure this out, I'd have gone your route too.

Ha. Maybe you could be the first layout the "how to" for others once you figure out the mess of wires. Good luck!

Haha. We'll see. Everything else is pretty much messaging. Just the wiring I'll have to figure out.

Since this thread hasn't been updated, I've figured out which wires go to where. Basically what's necessary to run the automatic transmission is to intergrate an additional wiring harness that has to be custom made and spliced within the x20 and x69 (auto harness plug). I'll update more later.

Very nice dude. This sounds pretty cool for a DD.

I would use the OBDII transmission. Light years better. Keeping an engine OBDII isn't that difficult.

Also instead of starting from scratch, I would do some searching of the basic swap. There are many comprehensive threads regarding the X20 and C101 connectors.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

This thread was started 10 years ago, so slot of information has advanced on obd 2 tuning. With autos the newer the better in my opinion, but that creates new challenges in the size of the transmission & the reliance on can data from the dme & dsc modules on newer cars.
There are some standalone controllers for the newer transmission, the 6 & 8 speed autos would be a very tight fit though. I feel the 7 speed dct (dual clutch transmission) may be the future of 2 pedal swaps, even if BMW has abandoned them.
