I put these headers 4 years ago (and probably close to 80K miles) and they are still holding up fine.

When I put the "real" M3 cams in the motor (not the 2.8 cams as in the 2006 dyno), it made 238rwhp SAE.

Don't let anyone tell you these suck.

you guys are totally missing the point of headers, which is not all that suprising.

With these SS replicas, do they have to be welded to the original exhaust or is it a direct bolt on? I am sorry but I have never experiments with headers before.

They do not bolt on. I had flanges made and have them bolted to my M20 exhaust.

Well enlighten us then, O mighty one!

MY goal is simple: I want cool looks and cool sound. I am pretty sure nothing I can do will make my soon to be installed S50 make less power than my 320,000 mile M20, right?

            Closing SOON!

The point of these headers is being cheap and super easy to install. I don't expect an optimal header for 80 bucks, but it's not a huge deal.

He is probably going to go into a long thing about pulse matching and scavaging. The truth is that the best header will give you nominal gains for massive money. So I say fuck it let the exhaust out save weight and look at the shinny parts.

nah he was referring simply to removal of gases on the exhaust stroke. Forget cooling (accomplished through mass flow rather than conduction), forget cool looks, forget weight reduction and ANY involvement into acoustics, like BMW_TUNER mentions. This specially is not gonna get done by any street tuner or even in the minds of well budgeted racers here. I'd be surprised if even 1person here has a tuned intake and exhaust.

did you have any problems with them hitting the control arm?

I'm looking on headers for my S50B32, mainly to get rid of some rasp. Glad I have not bought these yet then!

Is the Raceland headers rasp free?
