    M52 OBD2 E30 no start :(

I did search but everything i have come up with (which isnt much) doesnt yeild results

car cranks strongly so starter is all hooked up sweet as
have tested for spark and nothing
fuel pump primes (can hear it when key is turned). fuel lines are the correct way round but i cant smell any fuel, should i be able to? have cranked the engine a lot..

other tests i have done to the EWS include:
found out i shouldnt have soldered the joins so i cut the wires an reconnected without solder (except for the power ones as that should make no difference)
checked for a signal coming from the output of the box to the ECU and there is a signal there (registers on the voltmeter). If the EWS forward of that didnt work (ie incorrect chip/EWS box etc, which is next to impossible) would i get a signal going to the ECU?

im pretty much out of ideas guys! i hope someone can help me??
    thanks, andy

edit: FYI, M20 that came out ran sweet, as did the M52 before it was pulled from the E36, as did the ECU/EWS combination from another E36

are the pins on the ECUs the same no matter what the manufacturer is? what im getting at is, is the pin indicated on here the same on both Bosche and Siemens? (pin 18)

there is continuity between the EWS control unit and pin 18 on the ECU plug

What version of the EWS do you have? I assume you have it all wired appropriately according to the ETM for the proper version?

EWS, as you know, will keep the car from sparking.

I'm definitely not too knowledgeable on the wiring, but you may want to talk to Matt again and see if he can set you up something with EWS delete. He helped me out and I don't recall the ECU brand being of any importance. You could always source a "burnable" ECU and have him burn that one if he doesn't have any on hand.

looks like i need to get my EWS system and the DME aligned at the dealership. will be doing that when i can get a day off to take the car into the big smoke to get it done. hopefully this will work and i wont be paying out my asshole for it. i fair i will be :S

will let you know how this works out.

if anyone has any suggestions to check out first post em up
