If i were to get an s50 with out the dme and harness. what dme and harness can i use? do i have to find another s50 one or can a 325i 413 dme and harness work?

All OBD-1 VANOS 325i harnesses are compatible. You'll want to a manual one as the automatic harness has a bunch of extra shit in it. (Although it will work too.)2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4WD LBZ/Allison

Yes, a 325i manual harness will work. And yes, a 413 red label ECU is fine to use, but you WILL need a chip for an s50. Either from an M3 413 red label DME, or from a company like The Racer's Market or Turner or whoever. They will just need to know what motor/mods and what DME.
edit- Okay, like gregslow said, you dont neeeed a chip to run it, but I wouldn't run a 3.0 with a 2.5 chip. There's no reason not to get the proper chip...
