Im running the s50 motor and finally fitted the standalone management, my question is, is there any way i can make the consumption meter work with the standalone management?

It will work by connecting the fuel rate wire directly to the (-) side of one of your fuel injectors. That will give the needle life, but it won't be completely accurate.

For 100% accuracy, you'll need a standalone version of one of my fuel correction boards.

yeah, use hoveringuy's circuit, and connect it to an injector ground.

That's the first time I've heard of those.
        I'm surprised they're not more popular. :0

Thanks alot, i gather that the fuel rate wire is the one under the cluster ( 3 wire plug-one is rev counter) ?

the correction boards sound very interesting, do they just connect inline to the injector?

im using 550cc Siemens injectors and the management has 2 (-) wires that control 3 injectors each, could i just tap into one of these wires? will your correction boards give me an accurate reading with the 550cc injectors?

Whats the pricing of the correction boards?

I'm using one of Hoveringuy's modules with my megasquirted M52B28...it's a brilliant. Over a 360km highway trip recently, the OBC and manually calculated values were identical! Steve's made a great contribution to the 24v E30 community.

In other words you have two banks of three injectors... banked injection. It will connect to one of those (-) wires.

Yes, it will work but I'm not sure how the calibration on banked injectors would be. There exists the possibility that I would need to send you a second chip based on your feedback that has different calibration settings.

The location of the wire depends on the year of the car. The late model cars have the fuel consumption signal running through the large plug (C101) earlier cars have it in the 3 wire plug behind the glovebox.

Kilometers? I thought I sent you one calibrated in grams of fuel per hectopascal!

how much would the board cost?

Yeah, but that's technical talk...you don't need to worry about that :)

Such a great little gizmo...it's nice having the OBC behaving as it should, even with the MSEFI and 24V. Definitely gives the project a good sense of completion.
