applies to basic swap stuff Stumped at moment

So pulled the m52 out of my 328is and installed a S52 so basically a plug and play.

All labeled prior to removal and installed everything fairly easy. two days later hop in push clutch in turn key fuel pump kicks in but no other noises besides silly door chimes.

Relays clicked over and since it was running prior to engine swap. Using M52 dme and existing orginal key for test fire adding ews delete chip to m3 ecu once it turns over. Waiting for it in mail.

Checked all fues except fuse 47 and 48 drivers foot well. Checked battery it was slightly low but put my boost box on it to give it some kick.

still nothing maybe the 1/2 hour with key on issue? or is that just an e30ism?

Hoping it's not the starter after putting it all back together as I hate pulling the manifold on these dreaded things.

Minor update from last night, I also have NO window nor sunroof operability at the moment so I am thinking EWS II issues. I also can not find fuse 47 under the drivers side dashboard it's supposed to be a 15 amp fuse all that is under there is a 5 amp fuse so that's not it.

No window or sunroof operability should not be an EWS issue. I'm guessing that something important isn't hooked up.

I labeled everything to nines when disassembling. Then installed exactly the same. Bugging the crap out of me. Very simple might need to take a step back and take a break.

No window or sunroof operation usually means that the unloader relay isn't working properly. I would go over your starter connections.

will check it but it could only be the two small wires and they are size cordinated.

Starter has power so It is HOT.

Just downloaded the ETM, looks like the Starter immobilization switch is connected directly to the EWSII module. The power windows get their power from the Body electronics control module (ZKE IV) which is connected to Terminal 30h on the starter.

Sounds like 2 separate wiring issues.

Hold up, forget what I said about the starter immobilization switch, its connected to the EWSII and not the 30h terminal.

Be sure to still check the 30h terminal on the starter though.

Swapped starter and still zilch. no clicking no nothing, just relays engaging. I have to be missing something obvious.

Oh well it has to wait till I return.

Imma guess you have the green/black and starter reversed, or maybe your starter is wired backwards internally.

E36 and I tried the starter bit, won't be able to work on it for another 15 days or so.
