I'm going to order a new crank sensor and will but the battery on a tender so that it'll be fresh when I come back to install it.
You can meter the Crank sensor very easily from the X6000 connector with a DMM. You are looking for the 550 Ohm or 1200 ohm range depending on the year / make.

Yup, I've got the manual for reference but it states that I should be looking for 1280 ohms +/- 10%...the sensor was giving me NOTHING.
Everything you are describing sounds more and more like the main relay.
Checked all the relay's actually...all of them are 100% functional. ECU is good too, sends proper signal to main relay and then from there to fuel relay. Everything checks out.
I'm going to have to get back to you because my friend, an electrical engineer read the wiring diagrams and was able to hook them up to my batter booster to verify if they worked. I heard each relay click.
I will have to go back to the car and tell you one by one which relay had the voltage, I can't remember of the top of my head.

Well, I hear ya on that.
The main relay is an oddity, tell your buddy it is an STDP relay, so ther are 2 87's and no 87a.
Half of that relay runs the DME, the other half runs the fuel system, in addition to other stuff (tach, etc through DME as example)
The whole reason I think main relay is those same basic symptoms have been the main relay so many times.
"Runs fine but sputters and dies after like 15 min, now it won't start at all" is the basics as I get them.
Closing SOON!
