Trace the body wire, and use a DMM to find where the engine loom wire goes.Past Car : E30 S50 6 Speed 5 Lug 3.73

Well ive been checking this out,, I have a red/white wire and a brown wire on the front temp sensor, thats the one for the guage right? I have the adapter made by Gregslow 318i, and it puts Pin number 4 on e30 side to the right pin on e34 side, and then there is a voilet/purple wire that i cant trace,, anyone got any clue what thats for? should i just cut it and wire it into the red/white one? :-?
Best regards from iceland..
