    Yes. I'm debating between the E36 M3 master and a 325i slave.

so is it just me or is there no room to even install this thing (slave)without tilting it(ZF) down?

its possible, an extension with a universal joint makes it easier... 2 extensions with the universal in the middle makes it really easy.

shove it on, and get the bottom nut started by hand to hold it, then continue with the top one.

Yep, lots of extensions and a wobble joint have done the trick for me many a time. You can compress the slave slowly if you just apply pressure to it.

So it seems the consensus is to install it all bled and and line attached I'm getting... Still looks tighter than a chinese virgin. Ordered a UUC line last night so I may put this off today.

just to throw in my 2 cents here, I'm using a ZF unit with E30 master cylinder, E36 M3 slave and the feel is great. very firm pedal, engages right at the top. I was able to get a really good bleed with a pressure bleeder. clutch is not OEM, though, stage 1 DXD/south bend feramic.

I got used to the Pcar and like the clutch to grab just after letting off/up about 1/4-1/2 travel. Going with the OG E30 slave just need to get a new line this one bent...and the bend back snapped of course so I had to order a freshy.

interesting, are porsches known for that? dad had an '88 911 several years ago, unfortunately I never got enough seat time to remember the clutch. but, isn't a low-catching clutch just a symptom of a poor bleed? it's the same basic ssytem as brakes, and perfectly bled best scenario is minimum pedal travel as there is no air to be squished through the lines before actually applying pressure. correct me if I'm wrong here.

No your theory is all good, IDK why they were like that I thought it was a Porsche thing. I had a 90 C4, 86 951 and ended up in an 86 944 before I finally had enough punishment. You fall in love with the way that cr sounds when you crank, the safe like clunk of the dors shutting and that unmistakable Porsche smell. The upkeep is what killz it. :( S52E30 is damn close to the 911 accel tho for a 6th the cost!!!

I have a ZF trans with e30 master cylinder, E36 328 slave and dig it. Pedal is firm but engages close to about 1/3 of the way off the floor. Would love for engagement point to be a bit higher but it enables me to use a bit more ankle leverage than knee since the clutch is very sticky. Helps it not besing so jerky in stop and go traffic.

also running Clutchmasters stage 1 e30 clutch setup and e30 325i TO bearing
