shove it on, and get the bottom nut started by hand to hold it, then continue with the top one.Comment

So it seems the consensus is to install it all bled and and line attached I'm getting... Still looks tighter than a chinese virgin. Ordered a UUC line last night so I may put this off today.Originally posted by 325Projectzdon't listen to the diagram... listen to mr. swiss.Comment

are you referring to the fact that the clutch engages with the pedal coming right off the floor? this was my experience with those parts. i switched to a e36 325i slave cylinder and this corrected the problem for me. it engages about halfway up now, but the pedal has become noticeably stifferComment

just to throw in my 2 cents here, I'm using a ZF unit with E30 master cylinder, E36 M3 slave and the feel is great. very firm pedal, engages right at the top. I was able to get a really good bleed with a pressure bleeder. clutch is not OEM, though, stage 1 DXD/south bend feramic.Originally posted by 325Projectzdon't listen to the diagram... listen to mr. swiss.Comment

interesting, are porsches known for that? dad had an '88 911 several years ago, unfortunately I never got enough seat time to remember the clutch. but, isn't a low-catching clutch just a symptom of a poor bleed? it's the same basic ssytem as brakes, and perfectly bled best scenario is minimum pedal travel as there is no air to be squished through the lines before actually applying pressure. correct me if I'm wrong here.Comment

I have a ZF trans with e30 master cylinder, E36 328 slave and dig it. Pedal is firm but engages close to about 1/3 of the way off the floor. Would love for engagement point to be a bit higher but it enables me to use a bit more ankle leverage than knee since the clutch is very sticky. Helps it not besing so jerky in stop and go traffic.
