So I wouldn't need the litters and trays to swap in s50 cams into an m52? Anyone in California done this? What does it change for smog, if anything at all?

I think I might have to put my s52 cams in my m52... I already have the pink top injectors, and a 3.5" maf. I just need to do the headgasket while I'm there since I am planning on going turbo too.
I got a fender roller now! LMK if you need me to roll your fenders or want to rent the tool from me locally.

What about the sprockets at the front.
If I drop S50 cams into my M52, will the M52 sprockets fit the new cams.

According to the ETK, the entire sprocket/tensioner/chain assembly is identical between a 96 328i and a 95 M3. So I'd say yes.

That's S52 cams, not S50. The S50 has a diferent assembly, which is why I asked the question...

                      We're talking US S50, not ROW s50.

                        S50:
You didn't specify US or Euro engine. This is a US forum, so when people say s50, 99.9% of the time it means the 95 M3 3.0 liter s50b30.

I highly doubt a Euro s50b32 cam set will fit/work properly/have ideal profiling for a US/Euro M52 to begin with, I think the sprockets bolting right up would be the least of the concerns...

Thanx, that was the info I was after. So how much extra power would a set of US S50 or S52 give to a Euro M52 with the M50 intake, no other mods.
                          And roughly how many $$$$
                          Thanks again

US m52 = Euro m52. 200-220whp is typical, I believe. You'll want to look at more then just peak whp though. There is a thread on bf.c called "e36 dyno library" with ~15 pages of dyno results of various configurations.
