    Thanks again.

According to realoem it seems the fuel hose just connects directly to the fuel pump.

However, when you buy the fuel pumps (*BOSCH) some offer with fittings or without.

Are the fittings on the existing pump (external) reusable? or do I need to replace those?

    thanks

I doubt you can use the stock fittings on an 044 pump, even if they were removable. but I thought the inline version came with it's own fittings..

The 044 often does come with its own fittings, but they're usually just AN adapters - rui azevedo makes a kit that includes the barb fittings and mounts to fit in the stock m3 location

What a shitty day: I ordered those parts but they haven't shown up yet. It was 60 degrees in Park City today so I put about 90 miles on the car. I ended with a haircut and I get in the car and it won't start. It cranks, but won't start.

Both fuel pumps were silent so I jumped the fuel relay (both pumps were live) but the car wouldn't start. I was in a parking lot so I couldn't check to see if I was getting spark. I have just over a 1/4 tank of gas in the tank.

          4 hours later nothing.

I will head out tomorrow with the daylight and check again.

          CPS?

could be the CPS. it's easy to check, you don't have to remove it - you can test the resistance between the pins. 540 ohms +/-

but those usually only fail if the cables are rubbing on something (like on M20s).

            how about the main relay?

I am gonna check cps this morning. it is a tight fit in front...shall see.

also: how do I check main relay? where is it?

              thanks

it's the white relay in the 3 relay block - being a swap car, it's usually mounted to the firewall.

you can test it by swapping in a good one or jumping pin 85 to ground.

Nando thanks for helping me out all the time.

I've had phone / email / car / female/ issues lately!! hahaha what a shit show.

Anyways- I posted my non start issues to an old post.

                  My bad-
basically: The car has Fuel pressure, power to the coils and injection pulse but not getting spark. Replaced DME but still no change. Main relay OK... still cranks but still won’t start.

so it's fueling just not sparking?

Correct. Mechanic insists the CPS is working because there is injection pulse.
But when we finished the swap last time it would not start and he said CPS was fine; then he found corrosion, replaced the CPS and the car started. I feel it has something to do with it again but he is fixed on it being a wiring issue.

the CPS is worth testing, but if it is indeed getting fuel, it should be working. you could double check that the injectors are pulsing.

mechanic = turns wrenches for a living, or plugs it into a computer to find the fault :p

you don't need to hold back with me man.

Nando: Cam sensor was way out of whack. Ordered another to test if that is the culprit.

think that could prevent it from starting? It should be able to run without it but I am crossing my fingers...

it could if it was getting a signal sometimes but not always, it would actually run without it at all just in batch fire/wasted spark.

Problem solved: Ignition kill box under the dash was the culprit. Has a green wire coming/going. Bypassed it, car starts right up.

                                Who knew.
