I'll try replacing that as well. The shop I work at has a e34 parts car so I can snag it off of that.

Any idea what this plug is? And is it important? I is near the DME coming from the m50 wiring harness

So I replaced the cam sensor today and I haven't noticed an improvement. I'll try to get the crank sensor swapped out tomorrow. I sprayed some starting fluid in the intake manifold and went to crank the car and it tried to start up. One of the techs at work said that he's seen BMW's do this before with no spark. Has anyone else heard of this happening?

Why don't you do the pedal dance and see what codes pull up before you just start buying parts?
I got a fender roller now! LMK if you need me to roll your fenders or want to rent the tool from me locally.

What do you mean by pedal dance? I haven't spent any money on parts, I've got a parts car to pull from at my work. I'll run codes tomorrow thats a good idea.

eh, pedal dance is the turn key on, stomp gas pedal 5 times within X amount of seconds, then read codes.

I noticed this aswell. I tought my spark plugs are firing but you can only be sure if you but one coil out, tape a spark plug to it and ground it. If you see sparks.. it does work..

This entire thread sounds like a wiring adaptor problem. I'd go over your connections pin by pin to verify they are correct.

I have an m50nv manual harness from a 92 325 in perfect shape if you need it. $100 shipped.

Looking for a clean e30 shell for a project.

Crank Pos sensor and ECU relay are the two things that usually cause no spark no fuel.

I am in the exact boat right now and in the middle of testing the same things. Good luck, and I'll post up if I find a solution.

I don't think its the harness thats the problem. I'm thinking its probably the adapter.

I've already tried both of those. :(

Have you tried hardwiring the fuel pump and ECU relays?

I hardwired the fuel pump relay. I guess I can try hardwiring the ECU relay at the same time and see what happens. I can get the fuel pump to run if i hardwire the relay, but the injectors aren't working.
