    Anybody miss their M20?

I don't miss the leaky oil and coolant, but lately every once in awhile I miss the silky smoothness and sewing machine symphony my M50 is devoid of. Just curious if anyone else feels the same.

I do prefer the sound the m20 in my vert with a magnaflow over my m50. I always thought m/s50/52s sounded like well muffled trucks when the car still has a stock exhaust. VANOS tq pwns all though. My swap car Is a blast to drive, every single day.

Leaky oil and coolant??? There is no reason for an M20 to have those problems if it is being properly maintained. While it doesn't have 24 valves, there's a lot to be said for an M20 in good operating condition. Not to mention that they are a lot easier to work on.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I enjoyed the power of the s50, but the chipped eta is more enjoyable.

I had an m50 in my 318is, but I must say I enjoy the m20 more in my vert. It does feel smoother.

the s52e30 was nice, smooth and daily driveable motor. If you want more power but still want itb's and solid lifters get a euro s50 motor or an s54. or s38 heh

Not at all. And my M20 was a strong runner, too.

This is why I have a DD M20 car, boosted M20 car, and an S50 car. Haha, best of all worlds.

Too bad the m20 didn't come with a maf and a timing chain. That would be perfect.

considering this is how me and my M20 parted ways, I can't say I miss it so much...

It did run really nicely though with the cam (schrick 284) it... right until a valve broke :p
