I don't miss the leaky oil and coolant, but lately every once in awhile I miss the silky smoothness and sewing machine symphony my M50 is devoid of. Just curious if anyone else feels the same.
Anybody miss their M20?

I do prefer the sound the m20 in my vert with a magnaflow over my m50. I always thought m/s50/52s sounded like well muffled trucks when the car still has a stock exhaust. VANOS tq pwns all though. My swap car Is a blast to drive, every single day.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image. -
Leaky oil and coolant??? There is no reason for an M20 to have those problems if it is being properly maintained. While it doesn't have 24 valves, there's a lot to be said for an M20 in good operating condition. Not to mention that they are a lot easier to work on.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I had an m50 in my 318is, but I must say I enjoy the m20 more in my vert. It does feel smoother.Comment

the s52e30 was nice, smooth and daily driveable motor. If you want more power but still want itb's and solid lifters get a euro s50 motor or an s54. or s38 hehOriginally posted by bluntcan you get me a deal on cases of their (fiji) bottled water? i wash my 02 in that shitComment

Too bad the m20 didn't come with a maf and a timing chain. That would be perfect.Comment

broken rockers
broken timing belt
over heating
oil leaks
broken timing belt again
blown/leaking head gaskets
oil return tube leaks
