Have a coolant leak from what appears to be the thermostat, but, will report back after copious cleaning and checking and double checking shit.
I've gotten so fatigued I could probably install the radiator backwards.

      Good job man!

For the thermostat, I used only RTV on the housing, never had an issue.

She purrs like a kitten now. Just figured out the rear spring issue which is temporary until I can figure out a permanent solution. Bleeding the coolant, changing the oil/filter and zooming.
        Need a part? PM me.

Anyone have a clue where to look for ticking from the timing case/cylinder 1? Culprits, ect? Torque spec's on the timing guide tensioner on the side of the block?

Any suggestions on bleeding the cooling system or am I relegated to sticking the nose in the air and squeezing a hose? Fuck I wish I had a bleed screw.

This worked great for me. Squeezing the hose is the ticket!

Why don't you just open the cap on the expansion tank and let it run for like 20min. That's how I bled my system.

Well the issue is my top radiator to thermostat hose gets rock solid hard. And hot. The bottom hose from the block to bottom of radiator is next to dry. Thermostat stuck?

By cap you mean the sensor plug or the actual cap? Tried it. Nadda.

Nah the actual cap, drive around for like a half hour with the heat blasting. I've done this numerous times when bleeding this kind of system.

I always put my car up on jacks, leave the cap off the expansion tank, heat on, then I usually pump the lower radiator hose. No idea if this is actually doing anything, but it has worked for me every time.

                          Good luck!

Well, here's the thing. I have heat coming from the heater, right now. The damn engine just isn't cooling. In the AM I'm bringing the car in the garage, getting it on stands, removing the radiator, flushing it, removing the thermostat and making sure everything's good and then attempting to bleed this bitch. God damnit I want an M42 radiator...

You just have to keep going. It took me a solid three tries until I felt comfortable.

Also, I'm not getting a temp reading on the gauge. Anyone happen to know the wire colors for the sensor that corrospondes with the temp gauge on a '94 M3 harness? Heh. Assuming I actually have a '94 M3 harness of course ;)
