You still have a vacuum leak. Check everything is tight. I had the same Idling issue and turned out that my master cylinder was missing a bolt and that's where the leak wasComment

That's a big vacuum leak, I hear the hissing.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

My e36 just started doing the same thing yesterday right before i had to go to work. Left my car at my house then opened the hood with morning and turns out it was a vacuum leak....it was the "plug in hose" on the underside of my intake manifold right on the other side of the throttle bodyComment

so i have a family friend who owns a shop and his shop is called "japanese auto" but he told me to get it towed over to his place so he could check it out. he looked it over and told me he could not find a leak....but i wouldn't trust a mechanic who specializes in asian cars...so i don't know what to do. he said he'd take the ICV out tomorrow and see if he finds anything. he tried hooking up a diagnostic computer to my car but for some reason it wouldn't read right. he said his computer reads from 1992+ and my engine is an m50 out of a 1992 325i...so i don't know.

he said he'd look over the bmw manual and look at it with his assistant sometime tomorrow. hopefully they get this straightened out...i haven't had a car in the longest time and i've been borrowing my mother's car and she has been losing patience !

it seems that everybody is saying its a vacuum leak...is it for sure a vacuum leak? so then i could go drop by tomorrow and let them know its a vacuum leak and ask them to hoist the car up and look from underneath or something, idkComment

so i dropped by the shop today after school and my mechanic said the ICV is bad. he plugged some electronic tool type thing (sorry, i don't know much) and he said the spring inside won't respond. he brought out an ICV that he pulled from a volvo and did the same thing with the whol electronic tool thing and the ICV made clicking sounds from inside (almost as if there was a spring in there pushing a bolt) whereas the ICV pulled from my car didn't respond or make any type of clicking sounds at all....

so now i'm in need of a new ICV $$$ let's hope this is the REAL problem.Comment

It's not. Your "Check" light is working.

Greg doesn't do "Check Engine Lights" wired in. He fucking wires them into the wire harness plastic bit that goes over the top of the engine because he's too fucking lazy to do it right. You should wire that in. When I get ready to do mine (read: have time) I'll gladly do yours once you can get to my place.

Again, sorry for not being able to make it down that night, bud. Parker's shop isn't that far at all from you and you're more than welcome to stop by and turn some wrenches some time. Learn etc... I'll be around there in the coming few weeks.Need a part? PM me.
