Opinions on how to cut down rasp?

Well I've had my exhaust done and been driving it around for 2 weeks now and it's getting extremely annoying, the rasp and the fact that it's loud as hell. The setup is SS rep headers>2.5" y pipe>2.5" magnaflow cat>Borla XR-1 2.5". I was thinking of moving the XR-1 to right after the cat and then just putting another muffler where the XR-1 is now. Any suggestions? Below is a video of said rasp.

add another muffler. I have a 3" borla Pro XS, same cat, and a 3" dynomax superturbo at the back. No rasp, no drone.

I'm finally happy with my exhaust with a magnaflow cat and two Borla ProXS. Rasp is kind of inherent to the I6, though. You should hear my M3 now that I've got headers on the thing. The rasp is insane. Fortunately, I'm one of the few people who actually likes it.

Personally, I think a lot of it is in the headers.

I used the Turner Motorsports equal length headers, 2-1 merge into a 2.5" exhaust all the way back.

No cat, no resonator, only a single Thermal Research and Development muffler and the car was whisper quite at idle/steady state, light throttle.......but screamed above 4k at full throttle.

this, pay for quality and no jdm sound. We have a temp exhaust set up on Betty. Its the cheap option until the set up arrives from Europe/Rogue. Its ok but doesnt do justice to the engine.

            +1 for headers.

I used to have those but I hated the rasp so I swapped them out.

Plenty of people have an exhaust that dosent sound terribly loud, and they don't all have a Turner exhaust.
I have SS headers , Flowmaster 2 into 1, then a small resinator, into a 2.5 in Magnaflow. My exhaust is almost exactly as described above, nice and quiet at low throttle and idle....when I get on it high in the RPM range it does scream.
I get comments on how great it sounds all the time.

24V M50, M3 cams, Turner Tune, full exhaust, ect....

That does sound awesome, is the dynomax a straight through design?

Rasp actually isn't the biggest deal, I'm just not happy about the extreme volume, always scared to accelerate from a light when there is a cop around.

yeah, it's a straight through. actually, the build quality is better than the Borla. of course my Borla is one of their cheapest models..

L, you should guys should really look into a Thermal Research and Development muffler for your exhaust.

Priced well considering the outstanding quality.

I'm leaning towards using the Xr-1 I have as a resonator and then adding a Vibrant 1146 at the back. Hopefully that cuts down the volume by a decent amount.

Chirp! That sound would be nice if it could be turned on and off but for a DD that would be annoying.

I have Raceland LT Headers, 2.5" y, 2.5" cat, 2.5" Vibrant 12" resonator and 2.5" Vibrant street muffler. Loud but not stupid loud. Less than a Billy Boat...

obd II manifolds, custom mid-pipe with resonators, and ebay stainless m20 catback. My system is raspless and about 15% louder than stock. I love it other than the resonators scrape on speed bumps.
