    Slammed 24v e30s?

So i have a HUGE problem, i used the e28 M5 motormounts and my motor sits about 3 fingers from the ground, thats WAY to low, when it had the M10 i could easilly stick my fist between the oilpan and the ground,, What can i do? different motormounts/shimming them upwards, and building a skidplate?

    I KNOW IT LEAKS!

    Best regards..

You can shim It up a bit but not too much or you will throw off your driveline. Just get a good skidplate and be careful. My 24v pan is keeping me from going lower too.

Unfortunately you can't really shim it more than maybe a 1/4" if that. Skid plate will help, but it's not going to prevent anything major from happening.

Just dump the car on 17s, that way you maintain some oil pan clearance!

I wasn't slammed, but I was pretty low, with 235/40/17s all around. I like to use every bit of tire I can on my cars. :p

          Hi,
What you need is some new suspension springs which will support the weight of the front of the car and at the same time provide adequate ground clearance and not bottom out over minor curbs etc.

My 24v oil pan is higher than that. Dry sump time.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

I should measure my clearance when my coilovers all the way down. It's not good! Still drive it everywhere with no issues. I have a skidplate though.

I'm as low as I can go on my GCs, with the engine shimmed up a little on one side for header clearance. I'm running a raceskids plate. It saved my pan on almost a daily basis. With that I've had no issues.

pics, or your lying, I ran over a rock last night with my raceskids plate, and fucked the rock up.

I texted my buddy, cause everytime it happens i fell like William Wallace from BraveHeart Victorious from Battle :hitler::hitler:

how on earth did you break a 1/8inch thick steel plate into 3 pieces?

did you run over a plasma cutter?

Perhaps if you raised the subframe you could shim the engine up that much higher?
